Exeter and Vassar College have extended their exchange agreement

University extends exchange agreement with Vassar College

In October, Professor Jo Gill (Associate Dean for International and Development) and Professor Janice Kay (Exeter Provost) visited Vassar College in New York on the 10 year anniversary of student and staff exchanges between Exeter and Vassar.

Since 2006-07 students and faculty of both institutions, primarily in respective departments of English, have enjoyed the opportunity to experience these two different but equally high quality environments for teaching and learning. The Exeter delegation met a number of faculty members, including many who have spent time at Exeter teaching for a semester as part of the exchange agreement. Following a discussion with Vassar’s Dean of Studies, which among other topics covered ‘Brexit’ and opportunities for broadening the subject links between the two Universities, they entered into a new five year exchange agreement.

“We were delighted to celebrate our important relationship with Vassar in October. A world-class student experience is core to the mission of both Exeter and Vassar and through our partnership we are able to offer our students even greater opportunities. We are looking forward to reaching even further heights over the next five years.” - Professor Janice Kay, Provost and Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Exeter.

The 2017 annual ranking of U.S. News & World Report categorizes Vassar as 'most selective' and rates it tied for the 12th best liberal arts college in the USA. In 2016, Forbes rated Vassar 33rd overall in its America's Top Colleges ranking, which includes 650 national universities and liberal arts colleges.
