Dontcha Wish Your Planet Was Hot Like Me” will be held on Thursday, December 16 from 19:00 to 21:00

Climate comedy with special appearance from “headline hottie” Planet Earth

“Hottie” Planet Earth will be making a headline appearance at a unique evening of climate comedy.

The event, part of the University of Exeter’s Sex & Nature Salon, will be a “funky whirlwind of surrealist queer comedy cabaret and academic talks”.

Stand-ups, artists and researchers will tackle the climate crisis in an improvised comedy experience designed to help queer climate activism.

The LGBTQ+ activists and climate comedians will join together for a fabulously funny and fascinating mixed bill.

Those attending “Dontcha Wish Your Planet Was Hot Like Me” should expect to help write “cosmic” karaoke songs. There will be challenges and the chance to win prizes, or people can “stay cooler than dangerous ocean temperatures” and sit back to watch the YouTube stream.

The event features comedian and environmental economist Matt Winning, comedian Joe Sutherland and stand-up and drag performer Isa Bonachera

The MC is BBC New Comedy Award-nominated comedian Siân Docksey.

This event is supported by the Arts & Humanities Research Council and part of the Queering Climate Activism project led by Dr Ina Linge and Professor Jana Funke at the University of Exeter. The Sex & Nature Salon was developed as part of Arts & Culture University of Exeter's Creative Fellowships 2020/21.

The event will be held on Thursday, December 16 from 19:00 to 21:00.
