Overview
I am a Saudi lecturer at King Abdulaziz University, KSA. I graduated with a BA in English from the King Abdulaziz University, a BA in Islamic Law from The Islamic University KSA, followed by an MA in Translation Studies from the University of Leicester. I have granted a governmentally funded scholarship to pursue my postgraduate studies in the UK.
My PhD project aims to examine the Qur’an translator as a mediator of languages and cultures. It will attempt to address the factors which influence the translator as a mediator and how these factors are manifest in the translations of the Qur’an. The research will closely examine and analysing Injunctions/Jurisprudence verses of the Qur’an by conducting a comparative analysis between paratextual and textual elements of several recent English translations of the Qur’an.
