Further alumni confirmed for Paddon Award judging panel

Contemporary British artist and University of Exeter Honorary Graduate, Neil Canning and award-winning author, editor of Riptide and alumna Ginny Baily will join alumnus and award-winning composer George Stiles on the judging panel for the upcoming Paddon Award.

The Paddon Award was established in memory of two alumni who contributed greatly to fostering collaboration between alumni and students for the benefit of the University.  Both were very interested in the arts so an annual prize was set up to encourage participation in some aspect of the arts.

The theme for 2013 is ‘Sustainability: Imagining the Future’ and the Award is open to all University students, staff and alumni.  First prize is £250 cash and an opportunity to have a further one-to-one session at a later date with the judge of your choice.

Creative pieces can be entered in any of the following categories:

  • Film
  • Creative writing
  • Musical composition
  • Visual arts

The Paddon Award is open to all University of Exeter students, staff and alumni who are not working in the professional arts.

The final deadline for entries is Monday 18th February 2013, with the winners being announced at the final judging event on Monday 11th March.
