Postgraduate students in the College of Humanities

New Humanities Postgraduate Study site unveiled

The College of Humanities has launched a new Postgraduate Study website, which provides potential applicants with valuable information about postgraduate study at the University of Exeter.

The site is a comprehensive source of information and advice for anyone considering Masters degree programmes and PhD studies within the College of Humanities.

The College of Humanities' new Postgraduate Study website offers practical advice about how to apply for postgraduate studies and contains information about funding postgraduate study, including a guide for submitting a PhD funding application. It also details the entry requirements for Masters and PhD programmes and explains how the College supports its students throughout their studies. These services integrate career preparation, provide specific information for international and mature students and clarifies the role of the College’s support staff.

Hannah Rundle, Assistant College Manager for Graduate & Development, comments: “The College is committed to affirming its place as a centre for developing world-class research. Our new website highlights this commitment by providing dedicated high quality information to our prospective applicants, offer holders, and our taught Masters and PhD students from the point of enquiry, to registration, and beyond. These new webpages support the excellent work already undertaken by the College Postgraduate Admissions team.”

In addition to the central College pages, the recently updated subject prospective postgraduate pages provide a clear insight into each of the College’s academic departments. These pages provide full details of the programmes, fee information and direct links to the online application portal. Applicants can also find information about the department’s teaching and research excellence, and life as a postgraduate student in the respective departments, via the ‘About us’ sections.

Gemma Wiggins, Humanities Postgraduate Admissions Administrator, said: “I am so excited to see the new site completed and launched. To now have a website that provides our applicants with all the information they need to help them identify the programme they would like to study, guidelines on how to submit a good application, and additional information to help inform their decision as to whether they will choose postgraduate study with us, is a really positive achievement.”

The College carries out excellent research and teaching across a number of related disciplines including Archaeology, Classics and Ancient History, Drama, English, Film Studies, History, Modern Languages, Translation, and Theology and Religion. With world-leading research, the College hosts a rich variety of research centres and projects covering a wide range of issues and topics.
