Professor Mick Aston chats with students

Students un-earth Archaeology Careers advice

June saw another successful student-led Archaeology Careers Fair with several alumni attending the event including Archaeologist Professor Mick Aston; Writer, Historian and Archaeologist Gillian Hovell; Assistant Curator of Antiquities, RAMM Exeter, Jenny Durrant; and Marine Archaeologist, Wessex Archaeology, Sophie Thorogood.

Over 40 students attended from many disciplines including Archaeology, Theology, History and Modern Languages. The event included a series of lectures as well as stands from alumni and employers where students were able to network with speakers and attendees.

Rachel Wheeler, Humanities Employability Officer said of the event: ‘The event was a great opportunity for students to network with people in the field and it was great to see such a good turn-out’.
