Author John O’Farrell returns to Exeter

Best-selling author and comedy writer John O’Farrell is to return to Exeter on Friday 23 March to join a panel discussion at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM), Exeter. The event ‘Great Exhibitions and Great Debates: Victorian Values and 21st-century Britain’ will take the format of a panel discussion chaired by renowned political journalist and broadcaster Andrew Marr.

The event is part of a weekend exploring RAMM’s Victorian legacy.

Professor Helen Taylor the University of Exeter’s Arts & Culture Development Fellow said: “John O’Farrell is a marvellous all-rounder, able to amuse children and adults alike with his witty erudition and warm good humour. At the EXEtreme Imagination Festival, back in 2010, he charmed young people with historically-charged political narratives and personal anecdotes.

“His popular histories – An Utterly Impartial History of Britain and An Utterly Exasperated History of Modern Britain, Or 60 Years of Making the Same Stupid Mistakes as Always – confirm him as a great popular educator and humorist.”
