'Is that funny?' student writing competition final

Alumnus Richard Boden (Director of Blackadder, the IT Crowd etc) and guest judge Caroline Quentin invite you to the final of the 'Is That Funny' student writing competition.

Event on Friday 10 June, 2011 in Queen's Building, LT1, Streatham Campus, Exeter 6-9pm.

A shortlist of 8 entries will be judged by Caroline Quentin, Richard Boden, XTV's Mike Evans and Lecturer Sam North.

6.00 pm - Drinks reception in Queen's Cafe
6.30 pm - Rehearsed readings and film showing in LT1
8.30 pm - Winners announced
9.00 pm - Finish

The shortlisted entrants are:

  • Leaving Yesterday by Rosa Glover
  • The Chuckle Brothers by Callum Deverell-Cameron, Toby Neilson 
  • Claudia by Sophie Burstin
  • Uni-verse by Christopher Preston and Dan Orton
  • Clean by Gemma Kay Harrison
  • Is That Funny by Joe Hewitt, Kate Hudson, George Bailey
  • Oddly In by Kunal Solanky
  • Aaron by Tom Murray


Following the performances/screenings, the judges will retire briefly to the Queen's Café and come to a decision regarding the winning entries.
