Students studying the MA Writing, Nature and Place visit South West locations to carry out research and written assignments.

Scholarships for Cornwall MA

The College of Humanities has recently announced three new scholarships for students studying the MA in Writing, Nature and Place starting this October. The scholarships, worth £1,000 each, will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate outstanding promise through an example of their writing about nature and/or place.

The MA programme, based at the Cornwall Campus near Falmouth, takes advantage of local landscapes and heritage and is designed for students who want to learn about the history and practice of British nature writing with a view to careers in writing, publishing, heritage, the environment or academia.

Dr Sarah Moss, writer and Programme Convenor, said ‘Students on this course are producing some exciting writing, and commissioning, editing and producing a rather beautiful journal. We’ve been able to introduce them to some important people in writing and publishing. I hope these scholarships will help the writers and publishers of the future to spend a year here in Cornwall developing their literary and professional skills.’

Details on how to apply for the scholarships are available on the University’s funding webpages.
