The Richard Boden Challenge gives students the opportunity to produce a short comedy film or script and ultimately gain work experience in the television industry.

'Is that funny?' competition launch

Do you want to make a ten minute comedy film, or write a ten-minute comedy script? Would you then like to put that film or script in front of a man who directed Blackadder, won BAFTAs for best comedies in 2009 (The IT Crowd) and in 2002 (The Sketch Show), and who was Head of Comedy for Carlton?

The Centre for South West Writing and the Development and Alumni Relations Office proudly present the Richard Boden Challenge – "Is that funny?" The competition is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students attending the University of Exeter.

The competition has a valuable prize: the top four winners will be offered an episode of work experience arranged by Director/Producer/Writer Richard Boden at a time and place to be mutually agreed.

He returns to Exeter to both talk to students and help them develop their work on 28 October 2010.
