Welcome from the Director of PGT, Associate Professor Sam North

In January 2021, three PGT programmes will be hosting new cohorts of students: MA Theatre Practice, MA Creativity: Innovation and Business Strategy, and MA International Contemporary Art: Curation and Business. I’d like to extend to these students the same warm welcome as I did to the students who started at Exeter in the autumn. We look forward to seeing where your work takes you during your time here

You are about to embark on a period of intense study at one of the country’s leading research institutions and we want you to be able to get the most from the experience from the outset. One year (or two years part-time) goes past quickly, and the more you know about what’s available to you, and how to access and use the services provided, the quicker you will be able to concentrate on the important part: the pleasure to be taken in your module choices within your individual Departments. To that end, various induction events have been arranged for you.

MA Theatre Practice

For one of the programmes concerned, MA Theatre Practice, there will be a separate induction process organised by your MA Director, Dr Konstantinos Thomaidis, that will contain important information regarding the services available to you and how to access them - so keep an eye out for the appearance of this induction in your timetables.

MA Creativity: Innovation and Business Strategy, and MA International Contemporary Art: Curation and Business

For the other two programmes, MA Creativity: Innovation and Business Strategy, and MA International Contemporary Art: Curation and Business, we have arranged a joint induction meeting (online this year) that will share the necessary information with you that’s generic to both programmes; thereafter each programme will run its own, individual induction later in the week. You are, of course, focused on your particular MA, but please do attend this shared induction if you can. It will take place on 11 January, from 12.45 until 2 p.m. and you will receive an email including a link to allow you access to the event. If you cannot attend, the slides that contain the relevant information will be available to you afterwards on ELE. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you there, at the start of what we recognise is a year of specific importance for you all, the year of your MA - 2021.

Important notice: We will be updating this page regularly as new details of induction and welcome activities are released. We're also working within Government guidelines meaning information and activities may change as that guidance changes as well. Please ensure you check back here frequently for updates.

We hope you are looking forward to commencing your studies on a taught Masters with us in January. To help you settle into the university and prepare you for your studies we have arranged welcome and academic induction activities for you.
