Exeter graduate wins competitive Daiwa scholarship

Hannah Dickson, a 2020 graduate, who studied Japanese for two years in Language Centre alongside her degree course (BA Art History & Visual Culture), won a Daiwa Scholarship offered by the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation.

The Scholarship that Hannah won among over 200 applicants is one of the most fantastic and competeitive scholarships. Through her strong determination and diligence, she never gave up on her dream to study Japanese in Japan.

The Daiwa Scholarship is a unique 19-month programme of language study, work placement and stay with a host family in Japan. Hannah receives a grant to cover all costs including tuition, examinations, travel to and from Japan, accommodation / living costs and medical insurance for the duration. She will further her Japanese studies at the prestigious Waseda University, Tokyo from this autumn.
