Arts and Humanities cements top 100 position in international 2020 rankings

The subjects are positioned 98^th in the latest edition of the rankings, released today (March 4^th 2020) with Archaeology, English and Theology & Religion placed within the top 100 and History ranked within the top 50 globally.

QS Subject rankings are compiled through analysis of key reputational indicators such as research impact and surveying prominent academics and employers. 

Professor Jo Gill, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean for the College of Humanities at the University of Exeter said: “We are delighted to have been placed so highly in these latest rankings.

“This consolidates our reputation as one of the best places in the world to research and study in the arts and humanities, and is a testament to the calibre and the global reach of our staff and students. We have an ongoing commitment to investing in innovative and interdisciplinary ways of working and we are very proud that we can demonstrate strength in a broad range of areas.”

The subject ranking is the latest success for the college on the national and international stage.

In October 2019 the College of Humanities ranked within the top 100 within the influential Times Higher Education (THE) World University Ranking, and continues to be ranked highly within UK subject league tables.
