Drama reaches top spot in the Times Good University Guide 2022

Six subjects from the College of Humanities at the University of Exeter have ranked within the top 10, and a further six sit within the top 20 in the newly released Times Good University Guide. Moving up six places in the table, Drama is now ranked 1st in the sector.

Communications has moved up by four places to 7th. Further successes include four of our subjects retaining their place within the top 10: Classics & Ancient History, Italian, Russian, and Theology & Religious Studies.

Archaeology & Forensic Science, English, German, History, History of Art, Architecture & Design, and Iberian Languages all retained their position in the top 20.

The Times Good University Guide is curated using academic and social inclusion rankings, entry standards, student-staff ratios, degree classifications and graduate prospects.

The College of Humanities also performed well in the recent publication of the Guardian University Guide 2022. The majority of our subjects moved up the league table, with the greatest jump coming from History – up 11 places to 25th.

Two subjects remain in the top 10: Classics & Ancient History and Media & Film Studies, whilst five more continue to sit within the top 20: Drama, English & Creative Writing, Archaeology & Forensic Science, History of Art, and Religious Studies & Theology.

In a year where things have not necessarily always gone as expected, we celebrate the hard work and excellent teaching our world-leading academic staff have delivered throughout the pandemic.
