Overview

I have wide-ranging experience of  language teaching in the university, working on a range of courses from beginners' level to MA translation seminars. I work within the French department and with the FLC. I have taught undergraduate linguists in Oxford, in Paris (Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle) and for many years at Exeter, and am a qualified teacher within the British secondary school system.

Teaching

I have a broad range of experience in teaching modern languages, from young beginners to post-graduate students. I am particulary interested in how teaching in the target language can be carried out effectively, and how cultural knowledge informs and enriches language acquisition.
