Dr Natalie Pollard

I teach literature from the early twentieth century to the present. At Exeter, my main teaching contributions are in the areas of modernism, post-war and contemporary fiction and poetry. My approach to teaching encourages discussions of modern texts that are alert to their connections with writing in earlier periods, which are often key in the formation and structuring of twentieth and twenty first century literature. I also like to mix canonical works with less well-known writing, in order to help develop a sense of the diverse range of writing after 1900.
