MA – Archaeology and Anthropology, University of Cambridge
Katharine is a part-time PhD student who lives in the Isles of Scilly. Her research is entitled “Isles of the Dead?” and focuses on the Neolithic and Bronze Age entrance graves and cists of Scilly, examining their setting and function and the reasons for the large concentration of them on such a small landmass.
She also works as a freelance archaeologist in Scilly, carrying out archaeological recording as well as leading guided walks to visit archaeological sites, giving slide shows and teaching adult education classes.
Her website, with information about sites of all periods on Scilly, is at www.scillywalks.co.uk.
