BA Film Studies and Modern Languages (German)
Year Abroad Destination: Germany

I went on my year abroad last year, where I worked as a language assistant in a Secondary school in Lower Saxony in Germany, as part of the British Council teach abroad scheme. It was equally the hardest thing I have ever done and the best experience I have ever had. I settled in and said yes to (pretty much) everything, which led to me doing the most amazing things that I never would have had the opportunity to do if I hadn’t gone on a year abroad. Now I can’t imagine having not gone and would definitely recommend it to everyone – you gain so many adaptable life skills, as well as having fun. A win-win situation. The university offer multiple talks and workshops on the options there for a year abroad so you feel supported when making a decision.
