Our Shadow a Student Scheme (SASS) aims to give Year 12 students the chance to experience life as an undergraduate student.Students will spend the day (10:00 – 15:00) accompanied by current undergraduate students and will take part in a variety of activities related to their chosen subject at our Penryn campus in Cornwall:

  • Campus tour
  • Attend a lecture & seminar (subject to timetabling) in their chosen subject
  • Tour of both general and subject-specific facilities

This free scheme not only allows students to find out more about their chosen subject from current students who have been through the process themselves, but they are also able to experience university-style learning at first hand and gain a deeper understanding of what it is really like to be a student at the University of Exeter.

The ‘humanities’ subjects we currently offer at our Penryn campus are English and History.

To apply for the scheme at our Penryn Campus in Cornwall or for further details, please contact the Humanities Widening Participation team at: hums-wp@exeter.ac.uk

Year 12 Summer Residentials

Lasting for 4 days and 3 nights, participants will be able to choose from a range of subject activity strands, as well as take part in extracurricular activities that complement the student experience. Find out more on our Year 12 residential webpages about this opportunity.
