Sin after Darwin (THE3216)

30 credits

Traditional Christian accounts of the origins of sin hold that all inherit their sin, or tendency to sin, from the original humans, who were themselves sinners by choice. Modern accounts of evolution make this account increasingly difficult to believe. However, despite the increasing implausibility of the traditional account, few have proposed an adequate alternative.

The module can be taken without any prior theological modules, though it is also suitable for those developing a special interest in systematic theology, or in the interface between theology and the sciences.
