Digital Humanities Documentation & Archives
I support the Infrastructure and Technical Services ACM and DH Analyst/Developer in their roles, documenting processes and projects, and recording project information in our systems.
I use WordPress to create bespoke websites for our research projects, working closely with my colleague Rich Holding to integrate databases into our sites. I also work with Omeka, an open source content management system used to create online digital collections. Omeka is particularly used by many heritage sector organisations, and we use this software to create our own digital archives and collections for projects.
I am currently involved in several text encoding projects, using TEI/XML to encode texts and manuscripts, and using the open source database management system eXist-db to display them.
