Novas Cartas Portuguesas 40 anos depois / New Portuguese Letters 40 Years Later (2010-2013)

Dr Ana Margarida Martins is a member of an international team of 22 researchers coordinated by Professor Ana Luísa Amaral (Porto University). The project has been recently recommended for funding by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia. Its aim is to divulge "Novas Cartas Portuguesas" by systematising critical, theoretical and historical information on: the emergence of Novas Cartas within the political, social and literary context of the dictatorial Estado Novo; its impact on the Portuguese post-revolutionary society; its international reception, triggered by the almost immediate translation of the book in some Western countries and by its impact on several groups or renowned names linked to international feminism, or to the literary world in general.
