London: Little Brown, 2008, xxiv, 429 pp. Excellent maps & illustrations, though little link to commentary; covered 1770-1815; introductory level, emphasis on geneology; exaggerated "bad" conduct & "miserable" life, as, earlier, had John Masefield.
