With an introduction and commentary this gives the official account of the experiences of the BEF in 1939-40 as reported in official despatches printed in the London Gazette, namely: 35305 (Lord Gort’s two despatches on the land forces in 1939-40); 38017 (Admiral Ramsey’s report of Operation Dynamo); 37573 (Alan Brooke’s Despatch on the BEF left in France after Dunkirk).
