Active as both performer and researcher, I work on various aspects of late medieval music, in particular on the French and French-style music of the fourteenth century. Many aspects of this field interest me, from the technicalities of musical notation, gathering and circulation, through the people who carried out this work, to the integration of music within a wider medieval cultural context and its meaning in the eyes of boht practitioners and consumers.
