I am an Associate Research Fellow working in the Centre for Medical History. My research interests are in both medical and social history in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. My areas of special interests are the history of Psychology and Psychiatry, and the history of the family, with particular reference to children, childhood and parenting. My current research also focuses on the history of occupational health.  A key theme that runs through much of my research is the impact of the domestic and working environment on the physical, mental and emotional health of the family.
