My academic interests lie in the progression of women in public spheres from the 1800s in England, America, and Canada. This has included the study of key scientific figures and lesser known technological pioneers such as Sarah Guppy, and their unrecognised influence on the shaping of coastal cities in Victorian Britain. Currently, I am working on a thesis which centres around women's changing attitudes towards race, abolitionism, and the public spheres in Britain, Canada (in relation to indigenous peoples), and America.
