This module will examine the Reconstruction Era, a fundamental period of American history. This era, spanning from the end of the Civil War to the Compromise of 1877, analyses the post-war reconciliation and struggle between the North and South and includes topics such as the rise of the Ku Klux Klan or the establishment of Jim Crow laws and segregation. As such, it will be of value to any students interested in American race relations, civil rights, politics and culture.
