The Cold War (HIH3575)

30 credits

In this module, you will examine the Cold War, from its origins in 1945 to the ‘end’ in 1991.  You will debate the origins from the Berlin Blockade to the Prague Spring in Europe, and how the tensions between the Superpowers affected the wider World.  You will assess the reasons for the ‘end’ of the Cold War and the collapse of Communism.  In addition to your own independent study, you will learn through lectures, which will provide ideas and contextual information, and will develop your own understanding in seminars.  You will be assessed through a group presentation as well as essays and an exam.
