Electoral Politics in Britain, c.1900-1964: Sources (HIH3310)

The political campaigns of the first 64 years of the twentieth century reshaped political life.  In this module you will be introduced to the changing culture of political campaigns of 1900-1964.  You will explore themes such as the giving women the right to vote as well as media such as radio and cinema and the development of the tabloid press.  You will evaluate the reliability and historical value of the primary source materials.  The co-requisite module - HIH3311 Electoral Politics in Britain (Context) – will provide the context that you will use to place the sources and relate them to the subsequent arguments of historians.
