Research interests

I have a variety of interests in and around twentieth- and twenty-first century literature. My research thus far has chiefly dealt with links between language, modernism and the postcolonial in Europe and the Caribbean.

My first monograph, entitled Multilingualism and the Twentieth-Century Novel, is forthcoming in Palgrave Macmillan's 'New Comparisons in World Literature' series.  The book uses a corpus of novelists spanning the twentieth century, from Joseph Conrad to Junot Díaz, to argue that the Anglophone novel is an inherently multilingual form.
