Research interests

I have a variety of interests in and around twentieth- and twenty-first century literature. My research thus far has chiefly dealt with links between language, modernism and the postcolonial in Europe and the Caribbean.

I am currently working on a book provisionally entitled Polyglot Passages, which considers the novel's engagement with multlingual language praxis in Europe and the Caribbean as a site of confrontation with the legacy of empire. The book engages with a corpus of novelists spanning the twentieth century, from Joseph Conrad to Junot Díaz.
