Research interests

My research focuses on the reception of Classics in post-classical literature and intellectual history. My current project is the first full-length study of William Golding's engagement with Classics, focusing on previously unstudied archival material.

My doctorate studied the influence of Classics on reconstructions of Celtic antiquity from the late 18th to the early 20th century, with a focus on Celtic-classical comparison in the work of J.M. Synge.
