November 2011: Over the Irish Sea

Dr. John Brannigan has announced the symposium 'Over the Irish Sea' to be taking place at University College Dublin on 26th - 27th April 2012. The symposium will be a part of the Atlantic Archipelagos Research Project. Click for details.

This Friday will see the opening of 'Perspectives on Tim Robinson'. Please come along to the Druid Theatre and join us. All events are free and open to the public.

June 2011: Dates for the Galway Celebration

We now have dates for the Galway celebration of Tim Robinson later this year. They are the 9th and 10th of September. 'Creativity at the Edge: Perspectives on Aran, The Burren, Connemara and Folding Landscapes' will mark the 25th anniversary of the publication of Stones of Aran: Pilgrimage with readings, academic papers, film screenings, live music and exhibitions at the Moore Institute, NUIG, the Druid Theatre and in and around Galway. We hope you will join us!

May 2011: Salon in Cambridge

Next Friday we will be meeting in Cambridge to formally begin the British Academy funded project ‘Perspectives on Tim Robinson’. We have been invited to host a salon at Magdalene College on 20th May where a range of participants from across the disciplines will be discussing the Aran Islands, the Burren, Connemara, and the work of the Folding Landscapes company with Tim and Máiréad Robinson.

February 2011: AARP awarded British Academy research grant

The Atlantic Archipelagos Research Project has received a research grant from the British Academy for the project ‘Perspectives on Tim Robinson’. This will involve a celebration of the work of artist, cartographer and author Tim Robinson later this year in Galway.
