Why study at Exeter?

Our Streatham Campus

Our MA in Creative Writing, MA in English Studies and MA in Film Studies are taught at the University's Streatham Campus.  We are also able to offer supervision for research degree students at our Streatham Campus, depending on the research interests of our staff.

The Streatham Campus is regularly acknowledged as one of the most beautiful in the country, with spectacular landscaped grounds.  The campus recently underwent a multi-million pound investment programme, which with the addition of the new Forum Building has added outstanding new facilities including cutting-edge lecture theatres, extended library spaces and much more.

It is situated 15 minutes from Exeter's busy city centre and 10 minutes from the city's main train station, which has regular express trains to London (which is only a 2.5 hour journey by train or by car), and other major cities in the UK.  Exeter also has a growing international airport which provides fantastic transport links to mainland Europe and beyond.

The City of Exeter

Exeter, located in the Southwest of England, is the administrative capital of Devon and one of the most beautiful, scenic parts of the UK.  It provides the county with a central base for education, commerce and culture.  The city itself occupies a unique position near the coast, and is home to many renowned shops and restaurants, especially around the Princesshay shopping centre, which attracts business from all across the region.  As well as all the British favourites, there are a wide number of international restaurants and supermarkets catering for Exeter's growing multi-national population.

Characterised by the magnificent Exeter Cathedral, which dates back to Norman times, the city is full of history and culture, whilst still offering all the amenities and comforts of a modern city.  There are a huge array of cultural resources available, including the newly refurbished Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM), numerous art galleries, several cinemas and theatres, and much more besides.
