MA Theatre Practice

With specialist Pathway:

 

Our exciting and diverse programme offers students the opportunity to study from our full range of modules or to specialise in one of our named pathways.  Students can choose to increase their understanding of the uses of drama and theatre in education and community settings; explore intercultural perspectives on the body and forms of performance, physical training for performers, documentation of performance, and an in-depth independent research project of their choosing; playwrights, dramaturgs, translators, adaptors and performance writers or first-degree graduates can advance their practice in writing for live and recorded performance and/or dramaturgy; or to study Shakespeare through practice
The programme is suitable for students with a range of backgrounds and provides excellent skills and training for professional careers and PhD study

MFA Theatre Practice: Staging Shakespeare Provides a unique and exciting opportunity to study Shakespeare through practice. The pathway is suitable for students with a range of backgrounds.
Our collaborations with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and with actors from the Royal Shakespeare Company will give you access to some of the finest Shakespearian work in the world today. In both years of your programme you will participate in practical work during a two-week residency at the Globe in London.
