Applied Drama: Practical Research Project (DRAM117)

45 credits

This module takes as its focus one main area of applied theatre practice; applied puppetry, oral history, intergenerational work, narrative and storytelling or others.

The module provides an opportunity for students to gain understanding and appreciation of the tools of the particular area of practice, address the ethical issues raised and engage in the development of an applied theatre project with an identified community. Recent projects included applied puppetry within a local hospital, story-telling with a group of adults facing homelessness and devising a play with service leavers based on their experience of making the transition from military to civilian life.

Students following this module will also be required to complete a DBS enhanced disclosure.
