History of Acting (DRA3082)

30 credits

This course will introduce you to a classical system of acting that prevailed for centuries before the Stanislavskian era. That system is based on an exploration of the emotions and techniques of engaging an audience. The course will enhance your understanding of the art of the performer, and open up new possibilities for exploration. It is a research-based course, but presupposes interest in the challenge of acting in front of an audience. For that reason, it is unlikely to be suitable for a student who does not have a foundation in the first two years of a drama degree.
