Honorary Research Fellow
I am a classicist/ancient historian working on Greco-Roman social history, particularly the consumption of foodstuffs and medicine (especially daily regimen). My chief research interests surround the consumption of alcoholic drinks and their medical applications. I favour an interdisciplinary approach, and draw especially upon anthropological, sociological and medical research. I am also particularly interested in Trier Black-Slipped Ware, a style of fine pottery produced in Trier during the second and third centuries AD.
I am also an Academic Developer at Exeter.
