Dr Shaun Mudd

Honorary Research Fellow

I am a classicist/ancient historian working on Greco-Roman social history, particularly the consumption of foodstuffs and medicine.  My chief research interests surround the consumption of alcoholic drinks and their medical applications.  I favour an interdisciplinary approach, and draw especially upon anthropological, sociological and medical research.  I am also particularly interested in Trier Black-Slipped Ware, a style of fine pottery produced in Trier during the second and third centuries AD.

I am also a Senior Lecturer in Academic Practice at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).
