Classics and Ancient History
History and Religion
Other research projects fall in the area of Greek and Roman History, often understood in broad, interdisciplinary terms; the interface between religion and history is a special focus. Current projects include Roman religion, law and history (John Dillon), the drakōn (dragon) in ancient religion, iconography and history (Daniel Ogden), and kingship in Archaic and Classical Greece (Lynette Mitchell). Alexander the Great and his legacy in Persia and other cultures are subjects of research for Richard Stoneman, Daniel Ogden and Lynette Mitchell.
