Students are encouraged to engage with a wide and diverse range of source material including art, literature, history, language and philosophy. There are three compulsory elements: the core module applicable to the chosen pathway; a skills module in research methodology; and a 20,000 word dissertation. In addition students take two other elements: a language module in Greek or Latin, taught at all levels from beginners to post-degree advanced level; and an option chosen from a range of choices designated for each pathway.
