Classical Language and Texts: Greek IV (CLA2205)

This module focuses on the translation and interpretation of Classical Greek literature, with particular emphasis on two texts (one prose, one verse). You will examine specific Greek texts within their historical, intellectual and literary-cultural contexts. This detailed study will augment your knowledge of Greek literature, develop skills of reading and interpretation, and enhance your understanding of Classical Greek (including its various dialects). You will focus on the translation and analysis of texts in their original language, investigating their context, ideology and literary features alongside their language.
