Overview

Qi Zhou is a postgraduate researcher with a specialization in the porcelain art history of China and Britain, focusing on cross-cultural contacts between China and Europe during the early modern period. She earned her bachelor's degree from the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in China and completed her master's degree in Art Gallery and Museum Studies at the University of Leicester, UK. Since joining the University of Exeter in 2020, her research has centered on the porcelain exchange between China and the West, exploring the cultural and historical significance of this unique art form.

Qi's work examines the deeper narratives behind these exchanges, addressing themes such as philosophy and religion. Through her research, she aims to uncover the broader implications of cross-cultural dialogues facilitated by porcelain during the eighteenth century.

In addition to her research, Qi is passionate about museum education, focusing on how porcelain studies can be integrated into museum programming to enhance public understanding and appreciation of this art form. Her interest in museum education extends to designing educational content and engaging with museum visitors to share the rich history and cultural impact of porcelain.
