Queer Visual Practices (AHV3005)

15 credits

Through the lens of modern and contemporary visual culture, this module will explore the relationship between visual representations of queer genders and sexualities and the historical, social, and political contexts of their production and circulation. It will look at the ways in which queer image-makers have addressed sexual identity and consider their work in the context of wider queer histories and theories, as well as the queering of hegemonic narratives of History itself.
