I hail from Kolkata in India. After completing B.A. (Hons.) in History from India, I joined University of Exeter in 2008 for M.A. in Archaeology. I graduated with Merit in 2009, and participated in the UKIERI funded Pioneering Metallurgy Archaeological Survey in northern Telangana, as a part of a team from Exeter and NIAS (Bangalore) . This collaboration later culminated into Exeter/NIAS Split-Site PhD program and I was awarded the "Intangible Histories Studentship", which is funding my doctoral research.

Apart from this, in 2010 I was appointed as the Team Leader in a heritage survey project funded by West Bengal Heritage Commission and INTACH. This nine month project surveyed and reported more than 700 heritage structures in the Indian state of West Bengal which needed immediate conservation by the Government.

From November 2011 to July 2012, I worked as a research assistant in Pattanam Archaeological Research Project excavating a 1st century A.D. Indo-Roman trading port in central Kerala, India.
