Malcolm McLachlan

BA English 2015

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

Realistically, today (Graduation Day)! Being an older student, it’s been a long journey.

What will you miss the most about University?

Just generally being part of it. It’s been quite an amazing experience.

What advice would you give to current and future students?

Get involved. I really think, regardless of age or anything, get involved. Don’t just sit down and do your degree course. I mean yes, that’s important, but – be part of it.

What are your plans now that you have graduated?

I’ve got a place to study for a PGCE in Further Education, so hopefully this time next year I’ll be a college teacher.

Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time?

Teaching, in some way. I have no plans to move away from Exeter, it’s a beautiful city.
